Dejan Komatina, Acting Executive Director of the REC, hold a staff meeting on the 3rd of August at the REC Head Office in Szentendre, Hungary. Staff members joined the meeting both from the Head Office and online from the County Office network. During the meeting, Mr. Komatina presented his strategic vision for the organization and a short-term plan with next steps.
In his speech, Mr. Komatina emphasized to work in close cooperation with the REC Board of Directors and the new Chairman of the organization, Mr. Massimo Cozzone from Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea, Italy.
Mr. Komatina expressed his gratitude to the REC founding countries Hungary, United States (US) and the European Commission (EU) as well as other signatory countries. He stated that he will soon start visiting all signatories. He also listed EU, US, Hungary, Sweden (SIDA), Austria (ADA), Italy, Japan, Norway, the Netherlands and EBRD major donors of the REC among others and highlighted his commitment to continue cooperation with respected organizations from this donor countries and organizations.
He also introduced a Transition Team, established by the REC Board of Directors on the 25th of July to support the acting Executive Director in leading the organization towards a new period. The Transition Team consists of senior staff members from different departments of the organization. During the meeting, they also expressed their commitment to support the REC and the acting Executive Director.
The meeting continued with the questions and answers session with high level of interest from both HO and CO staff members. The Transition Team members also provided contribution regarding their areas of responsibilities.
